Very good, the IsoteQ Normal is equal to a 60 cm thick brick wall in terms of heat insulation. (U=0,26 W/m²K)

How loadable is it?

As much as a 15 cm thick ferroconcrete wall.

How durable are these buildings?

The oldest ones are nearly 50 years old, and no deformation can be detected on them.

To what extent are they fire-proof?

Their material is inflammable, in the case of a fire it melts without dripping and without any harmful substance being released from it.

What are the physiological effects of polystyrene?

It is totally biologically neutral, it is actually recommended to those suffeting from allergy and asthma.

Is there any extra sound insulation needed?

No, because it is sound-proof to a great extent.

Does concrete not deform polystyrene during construction?

No, because the polystyrene elements have a great tensile strength.

How much concrete does the walling require and of what kind?

C16-20 kk concrete, 0,145 m³ per square metre.

Is there a need for rough-casting?

Only by the knots of the reinforcement.

Is there a need for damp-proofing under the walls?

Yes, ordinary damp-proofing is used.

Do the walls need reinforcement?

Minimum reinforcement is needed, based on structural calculation.

Do the units need gluing?

No, they siply need to be clicked together, owing to their practical shaping.

Up to what height can it be used?

On its own it can be used up to 5 storeys.

Is it possible to work with it in the winter?

Of course. Up to as cold as -5°C, there is no need for additives either, as polystyrene is a good thermal insulator. In colder weather, however, additives are needed.

Can it be constructed under own management?

Yes, but the control or technical advice of an expert is recommended.

How can the electric cable and water system be developed?

With a thermo-knife, which works quickly, without noise and debris.

How big pipes can be led through in the walls?

Posteriorly, 4-5 cm thick pipes can easily be led through with the aid of a thermo-knife. Planned in advance, even as thick ones as 16 cm.

How can it be panelled on the outside?

Any kind of panelling may be used, even smoothcast, with the aid of a lathing. The technology is the same as if Dryvit were used.

How can it be panelled on the inside?

Plasterboard or any other ordinary cladding material may be used.

Can it have a tiling finish, too?

Of course, after having been filled in.

Can wall heating be developed in it?

Of course, consult our specialists.

How can objects be fixed on the walls?

With the aid of a polystyrene plug, which hold 15-20 kg each. In the case of heavier objects, the wall has to be borne into as deep as the concrete.

How long can it be left unplastered? Do UV radiation and various environmental forces damage it?

It is recommended to plaster the walls as early as possible, but there have been precedents of houses standing naked for several years, but their physical qualities remained unchanged.

Do rodents, insects move in them?

No. Partly because polystyrene is not left uncovered, partly because it is a biologically neutral material, in which animals are disinterested.

How much does it cost compared to traditional walling materials?

It is possible that its price is somewhat higher than others’ per square metre. However, if one consideres its advantages, by the time construction comes to an end, the costs are actually lower. It can be quickly constructed, requiring less workforce, smaller heaters and boilers are needed. Moreover, later on it can be run more economically, with significant energy saving.

How quick is its construction?

Depending on the area and the level of complexitiy, a family home ready to move in can be erected within 3-5 months.

How can it be transported?

The walling elements can be transported aand stored in 1 m³ units. Because of their little weight there is no need for mechanical power.

Does the system have any licences and certificates?

Of course, all of the necessary concessions are available.

Is there a guarantee on your products?
