At Csömör, one of our new construction sites we placed the extruded polystyrene (XPS*) insulating panels and prepared for concreting .
*The XPS – not the same as expanded polystyrene (EPS) that we use for our building elements – extruded polystyrene foams has exellent thermal features. The XPS consists of closed cells. The water absorption of this material is negligible, so it’ insulating ability does not deteriorate even if it’s prolonged contact with moisture. The extruded foam has very good mechanical features which doesn’t change during the years. Due to its stucture and it’s compressive strength we can use it under special circumstances.
